After a national recruitment and lengthy interview process that included more than 40 applicants, the City of Forney is excited to announce the hiring of Mica Lunt as the next Chief of Police. Lunt will be leaving his position as Police Lieutenant for the Plano Police Department and is expected to join the Forney Police Department on October 7, 2019.
“I am confident that Mr. Lunt will be an exceptional Police Chief and great role model and communicator to the men and women of the Forney Police department as well as the citizens of Forney” said City Manager Tony Carson. “Mr. Lunt offers servant and transformational leadership that I believe, will only enhance the family-focused and community-oriented policing that our police department represents.”
Soon-to-be Chief Lunt is a graduate of the University of Arkansas, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Physics and received his Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Michigan University. Chief Lunt is also a graduate of the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration (ILEA) School of Executive Leadership, ILEA School of Police Supervision, a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Texas Municipal Police Association, and was named Plano Police Department Sworn Supervisor of the Year in 2018.
