The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will hold a public hearing on the proposed widening of U.S. Highway 80 from Interstate 30 to FM 460 in Dallas and Kaufman Counties. The hearing will be held on June 25 at the Mesquite Convention Center, Salon A, located at 1700 Rodeo Drive, in Mesquite beginning at 6 p.m.
The proposed improvements would consist of reconstructing and widening of U.S. 80 from Interstate 30 in Dallas County to FM 460 in Kaufman County. The proposed improvements would include three to four travel lanes in each direction; frontage road reconstruction with two to three lanes in each direction between Lawson Road in Dallas County and FM 460 in Kaufman County; and reconstruction of ramps and bridge structures.
The proposed project would require approximately 25 acres of additional right-of-way and 0.2 acres for permanent easements.
The maps showing the project design and location, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the project are available online at www.keepitmovingdallas.com under the ‘Upcoming Public Hearing/Meeting’ tab.
