Pay
Benefit Summary
- Retirement benefits with Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS). Contributions by payroll deduction. Employee contributes at 7% level. City matches 2-1. Participation is mandatory.
- Health/Prescription Insurance. City pays full premium for employee, 25% to 50% of dependent health premium based on employee annual salary. Two Options – PPO & HSA plans with United HealthCare. For the HSA plan, City makes monthly contributions to Employee HSA Account.
- Dental Insurance. City pays full premium for employee. Plan with Principal.
- Vision Insurance. At employee cost. Two plans to choose from. (Both plans are with Guardian)
- Life Insurance - 2x annual salary. Paid by City. Plan with Mutual of Omaha.
- Short and Long-Term Disability for all full-time City employees. Paid by City. Plan with Mutual of Omaha.
- CareFlite Ambulance Subscription Service Benefits are paid by the City.
- Direct Deposit - City of Forney HR/Payroll will deposit employee paycheck to any bank accepting wire transfers.
- Colonial/401K/457 The City does not contribute. Optional enrollment.

Vacation
Full - Time Permanent Employees
Through five (5) years of continuous service:
80 hours per year (3.08 hrs/pay period)
Five (5) years plus one (1) day through ten (10) years of continuous service:
120 hours per year (4.62 hrs/pay period)
Ten (10) years plus one (1) day through fifteen (15) years of continuous service:
160 hours per year (6.15 hrs/pay period)
More than fifteen (15) years of continuous service:
200 hours per year (7.69 hrs/per pay period)
Part - Time Permanent Employees
Vacation leave will accrue on a prorated basis according to normal work schedule.
Sick Leave
Full - Time Permanent Employees
80 hours per year (3.08 hrs/pay period)

Additional Time - Off & Compensation Information
- Ten Paid Holidays - New Year’s Day, MLK Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day Employees required to work on holidays are paid time and a half up to 8 hours plus the hours they work.
- Two Personal Days: awarded 16 hours upon hire and every October after hire date.
- Bereavement Leave, Military Leave, Jury Duty Leave.
- Worker’s Compensation Benefits.
- Family and Medical Leave Policy as described by federal legislation.
- The City pays every two weeks (26 pay periods per year).
