Requesting Public Records
The City of Forney has established guidelines in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act to ensure that all records in the possession of and pertaining to the operation of the governmental body are available to the public through a systematic and centralized process.
The City Secretary and Police Department have the authority for releasing records in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act.
Procedures to Obtain Information
In accordance with the Texas Public Information Act, Public Information requests must be submitted in writing. Requests should be for documents or other information already in existence.
The City of Forney is not required to answer questions, perform legal research or comply with a continuing request to supply information on a periodic basis. The City of Forney may, however, ask for clarification of requests if it is uncertain as to what is being requested. Some records of the City of Forney may be exempt from disclosure.
To submit an Open Records request, please use our Public Information Request Portal.
For any further questions, contact the City Secretary, Rosa Rios.
