Comprehensive Plan

In early 2014, Council members approved a resolution to make the necessary preparations for the "Imagine Forney" comprehensive plan. The purpose of this plan is to implement a community engagement process, promoting early public involvement and to encourage diverse and active discussions. "Imagine Forney" will also provide an opportunity for local government officials and residents to work together by connecting civic challenges with the community problem-solvers.

Through topics and activities online, residents had the opportunity to answer questions from local officials, as well as provide their own ideas, while also commenting on other ideas offered from fellow residents.

The "Imagine Forney" Comprehensive Plan culminated with City Council approval on June 7, 2016.

New Comprehensive Planning Process

The City of Forney has initiated a new comprehensive planning process. FUTURE FORNEY will establish a community vision and blueprint for Forney’s future. We are seeking community input into the process to ensure the plan is reflective of resident’s needs.
