Utility Rates
Effective October 1, 2019, utility rates are increasing.
Residents will notice a slight increase in the water/sewer rates in their upcoming utility bills issued after November 1, 2019 (billed for October consumption). The 2.4% water rate increase and 10% sewer/waste increase are both straight pass-throughs from the City’s supplier.

Sewer Rates
Residential and senior citizen residential monthly sewer charges are calculated using the average water usage of the three months with the lowest usage during the four-month period from November through February. New residential and senior residential accounts are charged a flat fee for sewer services until water usage for the sewer averaging period (November through February) has been recorded.
Commercial sewer rates, unless otherwise defined by an industrial agreement, are the same as residential sewer rates. However, commercial accounts are not averaged and sewer transmission and processing are billed based on actual monthly water consumption.

Refuse & Recycling Rates
Refuse and recycling services are contracted with Community Waste Disposal (CWD). For residential and senior citizen residential accounts, the City arranges and bills for these services as part of regular monthly utility bills.
The city does not provide commercial garbage accounts and businesses requiring refuse and recycling services will need to contact CWD directly at 972-392-9300.

Temporary Utility Service Rates
Temporary water and sewer services are available for a period of up to two weeks. There is no temporary option for refuse and recycling services.
