Effect of Rate Increase on Average Monthly Utility Bill

Utility rates have increased, effective October 1, 2020.

Average water consumption is established in a rate study periodically performed by an outside firm specializing in utility rates. The most recent average established was equal to approximately 6200 gallons per month. Implementation of the results of these studies is solely at the discretion of the City Council. However, even when the rate recommendations are not implemented by the Council, these studies do provide a wealth of useful information for the Finance and Utility Billing functions of the City.

  • Fiscal Year 2023: Water rates have increased by 13.4% from the previous year.  Sewer service charge increased $1.00 from the previous year.
  • Fiscal Year 2022: No rate increases
  • Fiscal Year 2021: Trash and sewer rates have increased.
  • Fiscal Year 2020: Water rates have increased by 2% from the previous year. Sewer rates have increased 10% from the previous year. Refuse and recycling rates have increased by 5% from the previous year.
