If you encounter an issue with city streets, sewers, or water we encourage residents to contact our Public Works Department at 972-552-6695. For any issue encountered outside of normal hours (Monday – Friday from 7a.m. – 4 p.m.), please call our non-emergency phone line at 972-552-6625. Our dispatch will be able to notify on call personnel to about an emergent issue.
Responsibilities
The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of the city streets, water and sewer system, and drainage within the City of Forney.
All of Forney's treated water is purchased from North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD), which is obtained from surface water out of Lake Lavon.
As Forney's wastewater is collected, it is discharged to the NTMWD Sewer Treatment Plant located in Mesquite, Texas, by gravity flow and sewer pump stations throughout the system.

After-Hours Emergencies
For after-hours emergencies, please contact Police Dispatch at 972-552-6625. An emergency is defined as:
- Any danger to life, health or property
- Fire hydrant leak
- Manhole overflow
- Meter leak
- No water service
- Sewer back up
- Water main break
- Water service line break
Utility Billing
For questions about your utility bill or for water, sewer or trash service, contact the Utility Billing Department located at City Hall by calling 972-564-7304 or via email.
